Just wanted to give you all a little update, I’m a little behind as things have been insane this past month.
Well, I am sitting in a hotel in New York writing this as we have officially started our physical journey to Swaziland! I just need to stop there for a minute and say, Wow! I can’t believe we are really on our way…after more then a year of actual planning for this day…it is here!
There is excitement, and anticipation and heartbreak and lots of tears as we’ve said so many goodbyes…but most of all there is peace. A peace that can only come from God. A peace that brings us joy even amongst the sacrifices of following our Savior.
We fly out of JFK tomorrow morning, Wed Oct 1st, and go straight through to Johannesburg South Africa. It is a 14 hr flight and we will be getting in around 9 o’clock Thursday morning, local time, which is 6 hours ahead of what we’re used to. We will be met by some amazing missionaries and will then drive 6 hours to Swaziland, where we will collapse on a bed. 🙂
We have been able to travel with the other family that God has called to Swazi, The Malloys. Between the both of our families we have 31 bags plus backpacks for everyone. There are five children in all, ranging from ages 8 to 3. Let’s just say we got quite a few “looks” today. Here are some pictures of our day of travel today.
We ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers during this transition stage.
Matthew 19:29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.
